On April 22nd I travelled to Grande Prairie, AB. to attend SUL Deanna Johnson's Done in Four series. Deanna and her UL Kerri Kjemhus are taking digital by storm in GP working hard to promote, teach and "put on the map" our Storybook Creator 3 program. I want to send a big thanks out to this duo for their commitment and hard work. You gals are fabulous!
Then on May 6th I travelled to Edmonton to attend Director Cheryl Richards Digital Dessert event. Cheryl and her team of leaders are hosting a monthly event, they have two rooms at each event, one hosting a beginners class and one hosting an advanced class. These too have been extremely successful and Cheryl's team is seeing numbers of 70 - 100 guests at each event! Those are fabulous numbers! And it was a fabulous event.
Ladies I believe our consultants and our customers want to learn this program!!
I recently heard some numbers from Director Carol Verity who had a visit with John Zurn. He told her that to date they have sold 350,000 copies of the Storybook program BUT to date only 55,000 albums have been printed! Can you believe this?? That's like 1/6 and that is NOT enough! We need to reach out and teach Storybook Creator to our teams and our customers.
Now I want to tell you that I too love the Memory Manager Program but here's my "thing"! MM is not going to make you a lot of money and once Storybook is introduced to Mac, there won't be a Memory Manager. I love it and I use it but it's not my focus. We need people to learn Storybook and create albums to be profitable!! There are no residule sales to Memory Manager!
Under the Help Zone on your consultant website or creativememories.com there are several great training webinars for the Memory Manager Software. Click on Webinars and go to the Memory Manager icon. These are the options.
- Taking a Virtual Tour of MM 3.0 (4 min)
- Memory Manager Overview (30 min)
- Creating, setting up and renaming a memory vault (20 min)
- Backup options and moving a memory vault (45 min)
I've watched these webinars and feel confident that consutants and customers can begin getting their photos organized in Memory Manager after watching these webinars. We need to encourage them to use the training tools such as these webinars to their advantage, primarily to learn the program without you sitting next to them.
The same for Storybook Creator, there are several webinars available under Help Zone - Webinars - Storybook. Again I've watched them all and it's a great place to begin. Actually I insist that my new customers watch Storybook 101, 201 and the Storybook Webinar 3 videos prior to my personal consult with them. They need to play with the basics or my time with them is not productive, everything I say and simple instructions are just too overwhelming.
BUT...Storybook is where it is at and that's where your profit will be so this is where your additional training should be focused. Both Deanna and Cheryl and their teams are doing it right! They are reaching out to their customers and consultants with follow-up and advanced training. Kudo's again ladies!
I have created a card for Memory Manager and one for Storybook Creator, they are attached to each CD case, I'll attach those for you to view.
Finally I wanted to share that while I was in Edmonton I met with Cheryl and some of her team members on May 7th and I shared some Storybook Tips and Techniques with them. My training focused on Organizing the Content Manager. Again on June 1st at our Area Meeting I shared my Content Manager Organization and my corresponding binder. Both trainings were well recieved and for a few of the ladies they experienced an "Aha" moment! It's so exciting for all of us when we learn something in Storybook Creator, for me as well. Even when I think I'm getting the program figured out someone surprises me with a new tidbit of information that just gets me excited! I love it!!
Now I want to share some of these tips with you. I'm including Lesson One - Getting Organized in Content Manager. I have created these handouts in SB in size 8 1/2 by 11 format. They can be easily printed and added to your idea binder. Feel free to forward these emails to your consultants as well.
Ladies thank you for all you do! Thank you for sharing Storybook Creator and for helping people to capture their memories in keepsake albums, traditional or digital. As we move forward into this century I encourage you as consultants to step up and take charge in learning the Storybook Software so you too can share it with your team and your customers. Digital is moving forward fast and I want YOU to be a part of it.
Thanks for joining me on this Discovery of Digital journey! Cheering you on, Elaine
